Who am I?
A passion, a profession
I have always been passionate about languages and their related cultures. I have been lucky enough to travel a lot since my childhood, which only reinforced my enthusiasm for multilingual communication and foreign countries.
I graduated from ISIT (Higher Institute of Interpreting and Translation in Paris) as a translator from English and Spanish into French and as a liaison interpreter for the same languages. I started my career working as a trilingual assistant in several companies, particularly in the field of electronics, then as a project manager in a translation agency, before becoming a freelancer in 2010.
Today, I work with undisguised pleasure in my native region, Brittany. This is an important point. In fact, only a native speaker can find the most suitable nuances, expressions and words, thus steering your business away from potential trouble, because a mistranslated word, slogan, cultural reference or product name could be enough to tarnish the image of an entire company. Beyond the words, only a translator working into his or her native language can warn you about this type of issue. This is precisely what I find so interesting about my job. My goal is to provide a French version of your document, with great attention to detail, so that it reads like an original, not a translation.
Reflexion, revision, creation
I am as confident with technical texts as I am with editorials and can translate all your professional documents, be they manuals, press releases, websites or any other kind of text.
I specialise in the following areas: technical, marketing, communication, media, editorial, correspondence, interviews, international business, sports & leisure, tourism, textiles, cosmetics, eyewear, agri-food, watchmaking and more.
I can translate all your Office documents (namely Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or pdf, html and ttx files, and I use the Trados CAT tool. This software is very different from machine translation tools such as Google Translate. It is a kind of memory that allows me to find and harmonize my old and new translations. This software is an aid, and in my opinion, it enhances the quality and consistency.of the finished product. Finally, the translator, not the machine, is and always will be the one who does the work!
